New Waste Water Pump Station

Blacks Beach Cove Estate Mackay

A project that required considerable travel was a recent project at Blacks Beach Cove Estate Mackay.

Whelans performed the works for the Sunshine Coast based Shadforths Civil Contracting.

The project included ...

  • Manufacture of the variable speed switchboard.
  • Supply and installation of the 37 kW pumps and 200 mm DICL pipework.
  • Flowmeter and radio telemetry works.
  • Commissioning with Mackay Water.

 

Adventure Water Park

Geelong Victoria

In 2007,Whelan Electrical Services supplied the Control Switchboard, all recirculation pumps and waste water pump station to the new Water Park at the Adventure Park outside Geelong Victoria.

In 2008, Whelans again supplied the switchboards and pumping equipment for Stage 2 of the Water Park which now includes a Lazy River with Wave Generator. 

Whelans assisted with design, installation and commissioning of the project which is now being enjoyed by thousands of kids.

Waste Water Pump Stations

Caloundra

In 2006 Whelans completed the construction of the electrical / mechanical works for the largest waste water pump station on the Sunshine Coast.

The pump station caters for most of Caloundra and includes two 250 kW submersible pumps. 

Whelans provided the switchboard with variable speed drives, PLC control system, 450 mm pipework within the pump station, surge vessel, air compressors, and two 500 kVA standby generator sets to operate the pump station during power failures.

The project included the upgrade of two additional major pump stations within Caloundra.

 

Boat Navigation Lock

Pelican Waters Caloundra

In 2005 Whelans constructed the electrical / mechanical works for the Sunshine Coast's third Boat Navigation Lock at Pelican Waters.

Whelans have previously performed similar works at the two other Locks at Noosa Waters and Kawana Waters.

The Locks consist of a set at gates at either end which holds back tidal and static water.

The gates are operated by electric actuators to allow passage of boats from the canal system to the lake and vise versa.

The boat operators use a proximity card to trigger the full automated system.

 

Sports Field Lighting

Fishermans Rd, Maroochydore

Whelan Electrical Services installed the complete lighting and electrical works for the new Maroochy Shire Council Multisports Complex at Fishermans Road Maroochydore. The project consisted of :-

  • Manufacture of 600 amp main switchboard and distribution section
  • AFL field lighting for training level complete with 30 metre lighting poles
  • AFL field lighting for competition level complete with 25 metre lighting poles
  • 10 Netball courts with full lighting
  • Car Park lighting
  • Stage 1 Amenities Block
  • Stage 2 Amenities Block
  • Waste Water Pump Station
